Web Design

Harlan Designs primarily designs and builds WordPress sites. WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS) on the internet, but if a client wants a site developed on something different, that is not a problem.



Website Maintenance

If you already have a website and just want to make some changes or update to a new look and feel, we can also do that for you. Whether it is a small update or a large redesign, we want to get to know you. As we are doing it, of course, we will also go through the site and make any other recommendations that we may see to help you out.

SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a constant battle for every client. We all want our sites to be at the top of the search list if someone is searching for us. The way search engines index our sites and how they rank a site is in a constant flux. Graphics

Need your site hosted? Harlan Designs does that as well. We have dedicated servers that we host the majority of our sites on. They are high end mirrored servers to minimize any downtime. We also can handle your email if you need us to.

Photography

I’m sure you have heard the saying…”Pictures can paint a thousand works”. Well, it is definitely true when it comes to websites. Naturally, people are visual and like to see pictures. So, good photographs are an important part of a website. If you need a photographer, we can set you up with one.

About Us and Our People

Harlan Designs was started by myself, Steve Harlan, in January of 2016. I’ve been a web designer/programmer for over 20 years and have been in the corporate arena all of my career. I had been through the usual company buyouts and layoffs throughout my career and, after my last go around with a company buyout and layoff, I decided to do something different. Instead of someone else creating my destiny, I thought it was time that I do that myself. So, I took the leap of faith and started Harlan Designs. I had done multiple websites for friends who had businesses and had a pretty big list of contacts, from all of my previous work experience. So, I thought…why not…go for it…just do it! So, I did.

I knew, when I started this business, that I wanted to be different than those other small website design firms. I knew that customer service was going to be my top priority. I wanted to really get to know my clients, not only on a business level, but also on a personal level. I truly believe that putting a little bit of the personality of the client into a website makes that website more unique. It not only sells the business, but also sells the person behind the business. I realized that the way that I wanted to run the design process might be a little more time consuming, but I knew that it would be worth it.

I also knew, when I started this firm, that I would need some great people to team up with me to be able to not only create the ultimate website, but to be able to provide other services that a client might need. So, I have gathered an unbelievable group of people to help me out. I’ve have specialists in marketing, social media, content writing, SEO, and graphic design. With this team, I can be an all in one stop for everyone.

Our Process

Our process here at Harlan Designs is a very unique process. We get up-close and personal with each and every client that we have. We believe that this is what sets us apart from all those other web design firms. Getting to know the client, not only on a business level, but a personal level is really what makes our websites unique. Adding the a little bit of the “person” into the website makes the website not only sell the business, but also the people behind it.
